MF Tomlinson is gearing up for the release of his debut album, Strange Time. ‘A Long Day’ is the final song being released in support of it, and shows off the full extent of his folk-inflected indie sound. It’s a soothing track that takes the listener on a journey from its lyrically-driven acoustic opening, through the beautifully textured, sax-assisted middle sections and into a cinematic climax. He explains the track “essentially deals with the big and the small things that exist in our everyday mundane experiences – no matter how significant or insignificant they might appear at the time – how it all feeds into our concept of memory and the idea of 'living in the moment”.
